Emily F. Level 3 Good Luck! Have a great competitive season!
In our Rhythmic Recreational Gymnastics Program children are trained with all of the Olympic apparatus used in Rhythmic (Hoop, Ball, Rope, Ribbon and Clubs). Each child experiences success and individual accomplishments with each new skill learned. We encourage a learning environment that is fun, challenging, safe and progressive. Classes can be one or two hours per week. Two classes weekly are recommended for children to improve their motor skills. As students progress, they can be moved to more advanced classes that will enhance their skills even further.
Typical Class: In every class there is a 5 minute warm up, 15-20 minute stretch that begins each class. Developing flexibility is critical to Rhythmic Gymnastics. Please make every effort to arrive on time. Following this the classes will divide up and use any of the different apparatuses for approximately 10 minutes (this varies with class age and level) All classes will use all of the apparatuses for their level throughout the session, even if it is not in the same day. Classes also offer a social opportunity for your child with children their own age. Each class is designed to optimize your child’s physical, social, psychological, and emotional development.
Advancement: Here at Boundless we have a wide variety of classes and levels. A child’s level is determined by one of our qualified staff members. Many students in our gymnastics programs remain in the same level for 2 to 3 years, as gymnastics is a very demanding sport physically and mentally. If your child has had gymnastics experience before please contact our office to set up a 15 minute evaluation to see which level he or she would be starting at in our program.
Safety: Recreational gymnastics, with proper instruction, is a safe sport. The fundamentals and basics in gymnastics are extremely important for safety and progression. Repetition is the key to obtaining these skills safely. When the body is trained to habitually perform a basic skill, other skills can be added safely. Boundless Staff attend several clinics and workshops a year to ensure we continue safe and progressive gymnastics.
Attire: A leotard is the preferred attire for girls at novice and beginner; it is required for intermediate and advanced. Students should remove all jewelry and tie back shoulder length hair.
Make-ups: Each child is permitted one make-up per month. Please schedule make-up classes online.
